Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 32-bed surgical unit requiring recent surgical and Level 1/2 trauma experience.

Details

• 32-bed surgical unit caring for post-vascular, thoracic, colorectal, and general surgery patients
• Common diagnoses include ARDS, esophagectomies, whipples, and sepsis
• LNA to patient ratio of 1:7-11, shared with PCU
• RN to patient ratio of 4:1 on days and 5:1 on nights
• Day/Night rotating schedule at 36 or 48 hours per week
• Floating required

Requirements

• Active RN license (NH or Compact)
• BLS certification required
• Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience within the last 2 years
• Experience with chest tubes, drains, and post-surgical lines/tubes
• Experience managing drips such as Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, or amiodarone
• Experience with trachs and laryngectomies
• Telemetry monitoring experience
• Complex wound care experience
• Central line care, maintenance, and blood draw experience

Additional Information

• Provide post-surgical care for patients following vascular, thoracic, colorectal, and general surgery procedures
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
