Travel Med Surg RN – Key Requirements
Local travelers accepted (within 50 miles) with a 12% rate reduction
Minimum 1.5 years of Level I, Level II, or tertiary hospital experience
At least 1 year of Med Surg experience in a 450+ bed hospital
IN RN License or Compact RN License required
❤️ AHA BLS certification required
EPIC charting experience required
Patient Ratio: 1:5–6
Must be willing to float to other medical units as needed
12-hour shifts with 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks
Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue
Orientation includes 1 day hospital orientation + ~5 days nursing orientation (Epic included)
RTO must be disclosed at submission
Facility may call off up to 24 hours during a 13-week contract
⏳ 8 hours of non-billable orientation
Patient Population
General Med Surg patients with:
COPD, CHF, Diabetes, ESRD
GI disorders (pancreatitis, GI bleed, IBD)
Infections (sepsis, pneumonia, cellulitis, UTI, C. diff)
Neurological conditions (stroke, dementia, TBI)
Mental health conditions (depression, anxiety, substance abuse)
