Overview

We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced inpatient setting and is comfortable floating to other medical units as needed. In this travel RN assignment, you’ll care for patients with a wide range of diagnoses, including chronic conditions, infections, neurological concerns, and post-procedure recovery cases. • Hours Per Week: 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Orientation: Approximately 1 day of general orientation plus about 5 days of nursing orientation, with Epic training included
• Weekends: 3 weekend shifts in 4 weeks
• Charting System: Epic
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 - $2,130

Job Requirements

• Active Indiana RN license or compact RN license
• BLS certification through AHA required
• At least 1.5 years of Level I, Level II, or tertiary care experience
• At least 1 year of experience in a large hospital setting (450+ beds)
• Strong Med/Surg clinical experience and comfort with a broad patient population
• Experience using Epic or similar electronic health record systems preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively in a float-capable role across medical units
• Comfortable with patient ratios of approximately 1:5-6

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care to patients with diverse diagnoses
• Complete assessments, develop care plans, and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team
• Manage IV therapy, medication administration, and continuous infusions such as heparin and insulin drips
• Support care for patients with wound vacs, feeding tubes, chest tubes, telemetry needs, and other common Med/Surg equipment
• Monitor and respond to changing patient conditions with strong clinical judgment
• Use Epic for documentation and workflow management
• Float to other medical units as needed based on patient care needs
• Deliver compassionate, efficient care while maintaining a safe and organized clinical environment
