Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our flex pool team. The ideal candidate will have experience floating between various medical and surgical units, demonstrating versatility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Shift Information

  • 12-hour shifts - Days (0645 to 1915)
  • Scheduled for 36 hours per week following the orientation period
  • No guarantee of hours

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
  • Active State of Hawaii nursing license required by the start of the assignment
  • Current certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Preferred certifications:
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
    • Procedural Sedation
    • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
    • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)

Job Duties

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing nursing care across multiple units, including:

  • Medical Unit
  • Surgical Acute Unit
  • Cardiovascular Unit (on rare occasions)

Equipment Utilized

  • Meditech Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Pyxis Medication Dispensing System
  • Wound Vac
  • Chest Tubes

Patient Care Ratios

  • Medical Unit: 1:6 for days/eves, 1:8 for nights
  • Surgical Acute Unit: 1:6
  • Cardiovascular Unit: 1:4
  • Ratios may vary due to unexpected staff leaves

Dress Code

Professional nursing attire is required, including clean scrubs.

Orientation and Training

Comprehensive orientation and training will be provided for each unit to ensure that all nurses are prepared for their specific roles.

Holiday Coverage

Holiday coverage is required for this position.
