Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Medicine Specialty position requiring Med/Surg and Step Down experience with a current OK or compact RN license.

Details

• Hospital-based position on the 3rd Floor Overflow unit
• Med/Surg and Step Down patient population
• Provides nursing care to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Days shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• May be floated to any area of the hospital

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma or multistate compact/eNLC) required
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required, BSN preferred
• Med/Surg and Step Down experience required
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills

Additional Information

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents responses to nursing interventions and treatments
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Obtains and monitors physiological patient data and intervenes as necessary
• Administers medications and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Communicates care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed once booked
• Returning travelers may extend a contract one time for a maximum of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
