Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg/Stepdown RN with 2+ years of experience and stepdown/PCU experience for a day shift assignment requiring frequent floating.

Details

• 4T Med Surg unit: a 29-bed general surgical and orthopedic unit with medical overflow
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM-7:00 PM)
• Weekday schedule with every other weekend required
• Frequent floating to Stepdown/PCU and MS/Tele units required
• Stepdown ratios of 1:4-5 and Med Surg ratios of 1:5-6
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• EMR: Meditech

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required due to frequent floating
• IV start skills required
• Meditech charting experience preferred but not required
• Community hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across Med Surg, Stepdown, and Telemetry patient populations
• Comfort with high patient-to-caregiver ratios and frequent floating within the hospital is essential
• Scrubs not provided; royal blue/white scrub color required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous employees must have been gone at least 1 year and in good standing at time of departure to be considered
• RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with minimal to no time off expected, especially during the first few weeks
