Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Stepdown RN for a night shift position requiring at least one year of Med/Surg and stepdown experience.

Details

• Work in the Medicine Step Down unit of a hospital setting
• Care for patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week, 48 hours per week

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma or multistate compact eNLC)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills required

Additional Information

• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and document nursing interventions and treatment responses
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Administer medications, IV infusions, and blood products as prescribed
• Communicate care plans with patients and families, including discharge information
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
• Facility enforces strict compliance deadlines; onboarding requirements must begin immediately upon offer
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Returning workers may extend a contract once for a maximum of 26 weeks, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
