Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to acute-care patients during 12-hour day shifts.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor for changes in condition.
• Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders and facility protocols.
• Monitor patient response to treatment and promptly communicate significant changes to the healthcare team.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Cerner EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Provide patient and family education regarding medications, treatments, procedures, and discharge planning.
• Maintain patient safety, infection prevention, and quality-of-care standards.
• Float between Telemetry and Med-Surg/Telemetry units as assigned.
• Adapt to different patient populations, unit workflows, and staffing needs while floating.
• Provide appropriate care based on the assigned unit's patient ratios, acuity, and clinical protocols.
• Participate in required weekend and holiday coverage.
• Follow facility policies, including documentation, medication safety, infection control, and professional nursing standards.

Requirements Active RN license required at submission. BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required. BSN not required. Must meet the 50-mile radius rule; local candidates are not accepted at local rates. Candidate cannot be permanent or per diem at another CommonSpirit facility within the past 12 months. Candidate cannot have a second job and must prioritize the travel assignment schedule. Must complete the Smartsheet email/profile review process. Clinical team reviews the profile; if recommended, the candidate may be scheduled for a Zoom interview with the manager. Candidate should provide availability for the Zoom interview. Must be willing to float to: 4th Floor Telemetry 5th, 6th, and 7th Floor Med-Surg/Telemetry Must work 12-hour day shifts. Weekend requirement: 2 weekends per 4 weeks. Holidays as needed. Must be willing to work the required travel schedule without conflicting employment. Cerner experience is applicable to the assignment. Guaranteed 36 hours per week. Contract length: 13 weeks.
