Job Description:

The Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized care to patients with cardiac and medical conditions on the 3rd Floor Telemetry unit. RNs are expected to interpret telemetry strips and manage patient care efficiently in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret telemetry strips and sign off at least once per shift.
• Provide patient care for common diagnoses such as CHF, COVID, respiratory issues, GI, diabetes, and post-cath procedures.
• Handle Diltiazem/Cardizem drips at a set rate.
• Participate in self-scheduling with a possibility of floating to other units based on qualifications.
• Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, nurse aides, and respiratory therapists in providing patient care.

Requirements:

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Experience in reading basic telemetry strips and some knowledge of CVA and TIA conditions.
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system; minimal orientation provided.
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam with an 80% score within two attempts before contract signing.
