Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift hospital position requiring SC or compact RN license and EPIC EMR experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit caring for orthopedic and bariatric patients
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Uses Pyxis medication dispensing system and EPIC EMR
• Float required to similar units or nearby hospitals as needed based on census

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required, 3 years required for first-time travelers
• At least 1 year of recent experience in a similar unit
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry monitoring and emergency response for cardiac patients
• Perform EKG testing, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions/PPE protocols
• Orientation held every Monday, with annual compliance training required
• Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• Must reside more than 100 miles from any facility within the health system to be eligible at full travel pay rate, with reduced rate for 90-99.9 miles
• Night shift travelers for this specialty must live 50+ miles from the contracted campus, with reduced rate for 50-99.9 miles and ineligibility under 50 miles
