Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN with a GA or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience for a night shift travel assignment.

Details

• Work in a 38-bed Medical Surgical unit with an average daily census of 33
• Care for patients ranging from adolescents to geriatrics
• Unit utilizes remote telemetry with potential medical surgical diagnoses
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Charts in Epic and uses Pyxis and SBAR communication systems
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Required to work every other weekend unless otherwise specified
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• No call requirements
• 14-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Experience with rapid response and code teams
• Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care and management
• Skilled in respiratory care including nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, and oxygen administration
• Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and PPE use
• First-time travelers are accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy Medical Surgical unit including cardiac monitoring and respiratory support
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed for emergency situations
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of submission
• No schedule or shift change requests permitted once assignment begins
• Holiday coverage required based on how many major holidays fall within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
• If one or two major holidays occur during the assignment, no holiday time off can be requested
• If three major holidays occur during the assignment, one holiday time off request may be considered
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers who cancel or are marked DNR by Piedmont must complete one assignment outside of Piedmont before reapplying
