Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a compact or LA license and 1 year of specialty experience.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of a hospital setting
• Average daily census of 25 patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts (18:45-07:15)
• Every other weekend required, with 2 weekends in a 4-week schedule
• No call-in requirement
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or LA) in hand upon consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and CPI
• AHA certifications required
• 1 year of RN experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care preferred
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management experience
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
• Pre/post hemodialysis management skills preferred
• Current NURSYS report required for consideration
• Driver's license copy required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide care for Med/Surg Tele patients including cardiac telemetry, CVA, and feeding tube management
• May be required to join an emergency response team during facility emergencies with expectations to remain onsite or serve as relief staff
• Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• Scrub color required: Royal Blue
• Orientation held 5 days a week
• First-time travelers welcome to apply
• Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Previous permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated from the health system for 1 full year before returning as travel staff
• Two Manager/Supervisor references (Charge RNs not accepted) required prior to starting contract, though not required for initial consideration
• RTO must be disclosed and discussed during interview to avoid offer rescission
