Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position on a 37-bed telemetry/medical-surgical unit, requiring a KY or compact RN license.

Details

• 37-bed telemetry/medical-surgical unit specializing in orthopedic, neuro, and spine patients
• Serves as a secondary stroke unit as well as general cardiac/telemetry patients
• Receives patient transfers from PACU, ED, interventional areas, and direct admissions from MD offices
• Night shift schedule: 3x12s, 7p-7a
• 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required within 12 months of hire
• NIHSS certification required within 3 months of hire
• Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience is preferred

Additional Information

• Performs comprehensive patient assessments and documents care in accordance with RN scope of practice and hospital policy
• Facilitates admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including discharge teaching and coordination with case management
• Delegates and oversees patient care tasks performed by other team members
• Provides patient and family-centered education and individualized treatment planning
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities, including patient satisfaction, falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTI prevention
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
