Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Details

• 22-bed telemetry/med-surg unit caring for complex patients (CHF, stroke, ESRD, post-op)
• Patients admitted from ICU, ED, and PACU
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• ACLS, NIHSS, and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required within 6 months of hire

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact)
• Current BLS certification
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing assessments, care planning, and treatment implementation for complex telemetry/med-surg patients
• Coordinate admission, transfer, and discharge activities alongside Case Management and the interdisciplinary team
• Deliver patient and family-centered education tailored to individual needs and comprehension levels
• Delegate and oversee care tasks performed by other team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives, including patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
• Promote a healing, patient-centered environment through collaborative teamwork
