Travel PCU / Stepdown RN – 32-Bed Telemetry Unit
Unit Details
32 beds with semi-private rooms
Ratios: 1:4–5
All patients on continuous telemetry/cardiac monitoring
Mixed-acuity unit: Med-Surg transfers through ICU Stepdown
No acute stroke patients
Required Clinical Skills / Patient Care
Active cardiac drip titration
Continuous BiPAP management/monitoring
Telemetry & cardiac monitoring
Higher-acuity Stepdown/PCU patient management
Recognition and intervention for changes in patient condition
Role / Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive assessments and ongoing reassessments
Coordinate admissions, transfers & discharges
Implement and evaluate individualized plans of care
Administer treatments and nursing interventions
Patient/family education
Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team
Appropriately delegate and oversee patient care tasks
Participate in quality initiatives including falls, pressure injuries, CAUTI prevention and documentation compliance
