Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position on a 20-bed telemetry unit specializing in post-op cardiac and vascular surgery patients.

Details

• 20-bed telemetry unit with 3 beds admitting progressive care (PCU) patients
• Specializes in post-op CABG, cardiac surgery, valve replacement/repair, vascular surgeries, CHF, and moderate risk chest pain patients
• Patients often present with multiple co-morbidities and complex care needs
• Patients are transferred from ICU, ED, and PACU
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts, 7p-7a
• Weekends and holidays required as needed

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or Compact) required
• BLS certification required
• Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
• NIHSS certification required within 3 months of start
• ACLS certification required within 12 months of start
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety measures
• Last 4 digits of SSN and month/day of DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, treatments, and care coordination across admission, transfer, and discharge activities
• Deliver patient and family-centered education and individualized treatment planning
• Collaborate with the inter-professional care team and delegate tasks appropriately
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures
• Must reside within 75 miles of the facility, with local candidates accepted at a lower pay rate
