Description

American Traveler is hiring a night-shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS/ACLS certification.

Details

• 32-bed progressive care unit with semi-private rooms
• Nurse to patient ratios of 4-5:1
• All patients are on telemetry with continuous heart monitoring
• Mixed-acuity population ranging from medical-surgical transfers to ICU step-down patients
• Care includes active cardiac drip titration and continuous BiPAP monitoring
• Unit does not care for acute stroke patients
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week, 0.9 FTE

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience is preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive patient assessments, treatments, and care coordination using the nursing process
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including discharge teaching and coordination with case management
• Delegate and oversee patient care tasks performed by other team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures such as patient falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTIs
• Deliver patient and family-centered education tailored to age, culture, and developmental level
• Collaborate closely with an interprofessional care team to plan and implement individualized treatment
