Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Middletown, CT

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Middletown, Connecticut
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,010 per week
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: September 29, 2026
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed; flexibility to work up to 48 hours may be required
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, including the full weekend schedule
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday as scheduled
• Unit: 26-bed medical-surgical unit serving a broad adult patient population
• Charting: Epic

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Connecticut
• At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical or medical-surgical/telemetry nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers are not eligible
• Recent Epic electronic health record experience required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Ability to work three 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, and scheduled holidays
• Willingness to follow the assignment schedule without blocked scheduling
• Ability to meet applicable travel assignment distance requirements

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients during overnight shifts
• Complete patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient progress
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with orders and established standards
• Monitor patients for changes in condition, respond to clinical needs, and promptly escalate concerns
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
• Collaborate with providers, nursing assistants, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and other members of the healthcare team
• Support a typical night-shift assignment of approximately 7–8 patients while maintaining quality and compassionate care
• Promote patient safety, effective communication, and continuity of care throughout each shift
