Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent permanent Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse experience
• Active Registered Nurse license in Ohio or an active compact-state RN license in hand
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications in hand before the start of the assignment
• Recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director within the past 12 months
• Ability to complete required background screening, fingerprinting, drug screening, and health compliance requirements
• Successful completion of required orientation assessments, including ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety testing

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients in an observation unit
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, identify changes in patient condition, and communicate concerns promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely according to provider orders and established nursing protocols
• Complete focused and comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, clinical documentation, and patient education
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and quality patient outcomes throughout the travel nursing assignment
