Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a Resource Pool/Float position requiring active NY licensure and recent Epic experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit with Resource Pool/Float responsibilities across R5 (Oncology), R6 (Ortho), and R7 (Urology/ALC) units
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 (R5, R6) and 1:5 (R7), with possible adjustments
• CNA/PCT and unit clerk support available on all units
• 12-hour night shift schedule, 36 hours per week
• Floating required to R5, R6, R7 and potentially other telemetry units
• May be required to cover ED Hold patients in the ECC/ER
• Every other weekend work required
• Holiday coverage as scheduled
• No call requirements
• Uses IV pumps and bladder scanners
• Documentation via Epic; medication system transitioning from MAK to Epic

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• AHA BLS certification required
• CMSRN certification preferred
• NIHSS certification required prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Med/Surg Tele specialty required
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required
• Experience with IV insertion, bladder scans, blood draws from central lines, and glucose monitoring

Additional Information

• Provide care to adult patients ages 25-99 with medical-surgical, oncology, orthopedic, and urology diagnoses
• Work within a Trauma Level 2 facility
• One day of orientation provided
• Scrub color requirement: Navy blue and white, solid colors in any combination
• Minimal jewelry and groomed hair/beard required; no acrylic nail polish
• Respiratory therapy support available 24/7; ventilator management handled by ICU respiratory staff
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended, as public transportation is not accessible in this area
• All-season or snow tires recommended for vehicles during November through April
• Self-scheduling is not available
• Local candidates accepted
