Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Cleveland, Ohio

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370

• Expected Schedule: 36 hours per week; three shifts per week
• Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts, including days from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and nights from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
• Unit: Med/Surg Telemetry unit serving a hematology/oncology patient population
• Scheduling Note: Shift assignments may rotate according to operational needs. Travel nurses should be prepared to work at least every other holiday.
• Float Expectations: May float to comparable units and the Emergency Department to care for the same patient population.

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent permanent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry nursing
• Active Registered Nurse license in Ohio or an active compact-state RN license in hand
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from an accepted provider
• Strong patient assessment, telemetry monitoring, clinical judgment, and prioritization skills
• Oncology or chemotherapy administration experience is preferred but not required
• Ability to complete ECG rhythm recognition and medication-safety assessments during orientation with a passing score
• One recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty
• Commitment to completing required onboarding, competency, and compliance activities before and during the travel nursing assignment

Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult Med/Surg Telemetry patients, including those with hematology and oncology diagnoses.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and promptly escalate concerns.
• Administer medications and treatments while following established medication-safety protocols.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, therapists, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Support patients and families through education, symptom management, discharge planning, and transitions of care.
• Adapt to floating assignments while maintaining consistent, high-quality care for comparable patient populations.
• Participate in unit-based quality, safety, and professional practice initiatives.
