Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg Tele

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Med/Surg Telemetry to provide exceptional patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment. This position may involve floating to multiple units to manage similar patient populations as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients in the Med/Surg Tele unit.
• Monitor and manage patient conditions, ensuring timely interventions and accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, adhering to safety protocols.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatment options, and home care needs.
• Perform ECG rhythm recognition and participate in safe medication management as part of orientation.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 12 months of permanent experience in Med/Surg Tele specialty is required.
• Valid Ohio nursing license or a compact state license is required, to be obtained prior to start.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) are mandatory.
• Must be available to work every other holiday as part of the department's operational needs.

Shift Information

• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Day shift: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Rotating shifts may be required based on operational needs.

Additional Information

All candidates will complete an ECG rhythm recognition test and a safe medication management assessment during orientation, with the expectation of achieving acceptable scores in both evaluations.
