Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a hospital setting requiring an active Ohio or compact license and at least one year of specialty experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a large hospital setting
• Potential to float to units J1-2, J33, and the ED to care for the same patient population
• Day/Night rotating 3x12 shifts (7:00-19:30 or 19:00-7:30)
• Shifts may be adjusted to meet operational needs, with facility honoring preferences when possible
• 18-week assignment for winter coverage, with 13-week assignments also accepted
• Required to work at least every other holiday

Requirements

• Active Ohio RN license or compact license in hand required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA or American Red Cross)
• Minimum 1 year of combined permanent experience in Med/Surg Tele specialty required
• One professional reference required from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the applicable specialty from an assignment within the past 12 months
• Co-worker references not accepted
• Certifications must be active and in hand at time of consideration; pending certifications not accepted
• COVID-19 and flu vaccination required, with medical or religious exemptions only

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to Med/Surg Tele patients, including floating to related units as needed
• ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment completed during orientation, requiring a passing score
• Two attempts allowed for orientation assessments before removal from assignment
• Background check findings reviewed on a case-by-case basis, but open cases will not be accepted
• No license hits accepted
• Nurses are exempt from the facility's nicotine-free policy
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Permanent or per diem employees must wait 1 year from their previous end date to return
• First-time travelers are not required for this position
