Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of recent specialty experience, Level I/II trauma background, and at least one completed travel assignment.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit in a hospital setting
• 4x12 day shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Team nursing model with 1:7 patient ratios, supported by PCC and LPN staff
• On-call and weekend shifts as needed
• Weekend block scheduling may be considered upon discussion during interview
• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius

Requirements

• Active RN license in TN or compact license compliant with NLC guidelines
• Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required, 3+ years preferred
• ADN accepted for this position
• At least 1 year of charge nurse experience
• Level I or Level II Trauma experience required
• Large hospital experience preferred
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and IV therapy/phlebotomy
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
• Driver's license copy required for consideration
• Vaccination status required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for medical-surgical and telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and IV therapy
• Holiday coverage required: if Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment, must work 2 of the 3; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, must work at least 1
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Former permanent staff or travelers must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning
• Local candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration; RTO will not be approved after an offer is made
