Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring prior travel experience and TN or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center hospital
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Team nursing model with an effective ratio of 1:6-7 (RN caseload split with LPN and Med Nurse)
• On-call and weekend shifts required as needed
• Weekend block scheduling may be considered, to be discussed at interview
• May float between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius

Requirements

• Active RN license in TN or compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required, 3+ years preferred
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• At least 1 completed prior travel assignment required (first-time travelers considered only with 5+ years of specialty experience)
• ADN accepted for this position
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Chemo administration and conscious sedation skills preferred
• IV start skills required
• Driver's license copy required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a team nursing model on a Med/Surg Tele unit
• Holiday coverage required: if Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment, must work 2 of the 3; if 2 holidays fall within the assignment, must work at least 1
• Local candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
• Former permanent staff or travelers must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration, as RTO submitted after an offer will not be honored
• Vaccination status must be disclosed for consideration
