Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring active VA or compact RN licensure and proficiency in Epic.

Details

• Work in a high-volume post-surgical Med/Surg Tele unit caring for urology and GYN surgical populations
• Night shift schedule of 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Typical patient ratio is 1:7
• Every other weekend, floating, and holiday coverage required
• Must work two of the three winter holidays

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum of two years of recent relevant experience
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required, ACLS preferred
• Proficiency in Epic charting system required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC/peripheral line management, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, wound care, and administration of blood products
• Experience with respiratory care including oxygen administration and tracheostomy management
• Experience with renal failure and surgical drain management preferred
• Must pass an EKG rhythm interpretation test with 80% or higher, no remediation available
• Must complete 3 hours of pre-start clinical modules
• No history of license or background hits permitted
• Cannot accommodate PAPR fit testing; history of fit test issues will disqualify candidates

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy post-surgical Med/Surg Tele unit
• Collaborate with care teams on telemetry monitoring and rapid response situations
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered for this position
• Driver's license required for address verification prior to offer acceptance
• Requested time off must be submitted and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
• Travel experience is preferred but not required, so first-time travelers may be considered
