Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool position requiring 2+ years of acute care experience and the ability to independently read telemetry strips across multiple units.

Details

• Hospital-based Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool position, rotating across up to 5 different Med/Surg Telemetry units
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• Most Fridays will be required
• Telemetry monitoring, including independent reading of telemetry strips
• EMR: Epic (required) and Meditech IV experience required
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but will be placed at a local pay rate

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience required
• Ability to independently read telemetry strips and pass an on-site telemetry exam on Day 1 with a score of 84% or better (2 attempts allowed)
• Must pass the Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test (Test A or B) prior to consideration
• Experience with Meditech IV and Epic EMR required
• Must be adaptable to working across multiple different units quickly
• A valid, non-expired driver's license is required for consideration
• 2 professional references required: at least one must be from a manager-level or above (not supervisor), one must include a performance evaluation completed within the last 12 months, and the other within the last 3 years; references from other travelers are not accepted

Additional Information

• Preferred experience includes 3–5 years of float pool nursing across Med/Surg Telemetry units
• No extended RTO (time off requests) and no specific schedule requests will be accommodated
• 13-week assignment
