Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Float position requiring WI or compact RN license and prior multi-specialty Med/Surg experience.

Details

  • Work in the MS/Tele Float unit of a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
  • Float pool position covering cardiac, spine, neuro, and oncology Med/Surg units
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts between 1900-0730
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • Holiday coverage as applicable to hospital operations
  • Requires floating as needed, including to Neuro and oncology units
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active WI RN license or compact license required
  • Current BLS certification (AHA) required
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in Med/Surg specialty required
  • Experience across multiple Med/Surg specialties including cardiac, spine, and neuro required
  • Epic charting experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
  • Must pass a telemetry competency exam prior to starting the assignment
  • Prior travel nursing experience required

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care across multiple Med/Surg and telemetry units as part of a float pool team
  • Responsibilities may include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, respiratory care, and wound care
  • Experience with specialized skills such as chest tube management, tracheostomy care, IV insulin protocols, and post-surgical care is valuable
  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria, including two attempts allowed before additional requirements apply
  • Facility is a Magnet-designated, nationally recognized teaching and referral center
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
