Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit/Telemetry position requiring an active IL RN license and critical care drip/titration experience.

Details

  • Work in the Progressive Care Unit/Telemetry department of a hospital setting
  • Facility levels range from Level 1 to Level 4 trauma centers depending on location
  • Manages patients requiring chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines
  • Administers and titrates medications including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, and Argatroban
  • Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

  • Active RN license in Illinois required at time of consideration
  • Iowa RN license also required, or proof of application for an Iowa single-state or compact license during the compliance process
  • BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • At least 1 completed travel contract preferred
  • Experience with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines required
  • Experience administering and titrating critical care medications required
  • One supervisory performance evaluation or reference from within the past 2 years of employment required
  • Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide telemetry and progressive care nursing to patients requiring close monitoring and critical care interventions
  • Holiday coverage required, with travelers expected to work 2 of the following 3 holidays: Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving
  • Limited to 1 day off request between 11/26/25-11/30/25 and 12/23/25-1/2/26 regardless of holidays worked
  • Candidates who were employed by the client facility within the past 12 months will not be considered
  • Radius requirements vary by facility location
  • First-time travelers may be considered given minimum experience requirements are met
