Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift resource pool position requiring SC or compact RN license and at least 1-2 years of experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a resource float pool, primarily based at one campus with potential floating to a main campus
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Weekend shifts required as needed
• On-call required to fulfill holiday coverage requirements (either 1 holiday with 2 on-call/additional shifts per 6 weeks, or 2 holidays with no on-call)
• May float within scope to other units at multiple campuses to meet facility needs
• Epic charting experience preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required (pending license accepted, must be obtained before start)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience preferred; 1 year considered on a case-by-case basis
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Must pass a cardiac dysrhythmia and medication test on the first day of orientation
• May be required to shave facial hair to pass a respirator fit test

Additional Information

• Provide medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care with a focus on cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Will be scheduled ahead of time with knowledge of which campus location applies
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be considered; no local candidates accepted
• All requested time off must be submitted with the initial application, as later requests will not be considered
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous permanent staff of this health system are not eligible to return as travelers
• Attendance policy in effect: missing more than two shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract review for cancellation
