Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position in Saint Louis, MO, requiring at least 1 year of inpatient Med/Surg experience and an active MO or compact RN license.

Details

  • 7 East Medical Telemetry unit in a 60-bed hospital department
  • Medical patient population including those with surgical interventions and medical comorbidities
  • Patient ratio of 1:5-6
  • Equipment includes bladder scanners, vein finders, IV pumps, and wound vacs
  • EMR: Epic
  • Night shift schedule, 19:00–07:30
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating required as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active RN license in Missouri or eligible for MO licensure (MO or compact license accepted)
  • Current BLS certification from AHA required
  • ACLS certification from AHA preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient Med/Surg experience required
  • Valid U.S. Social Security Number required
  • No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
  • Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment unless documented renewal is scheduled
  • Flu vaccination required from November 1 through April 1; exemptions must be Mercy-approved — declinations are not accepted

Additional Information

  • Performs direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all age groups
  • Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes
  • Role requires significant standing, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting/turning patients with assistance; must be able to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. and pinch up to 15 lbs.
  • High-risk exposure to blood and body fluids
  • Night shift orientation takes place on day shift; candidate must be available the full orientation week
  • Up to 5 days of RTO is allowed but must be made up during the assignment; only 1 holiday RTO request per assignment
  • Black scrubs required
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
  • The facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center, Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Level 1 STEMI Center
