Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for an MS/Tele position requiring 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience and NC state or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work on the 4th floor MS/Tele unit in a short-term acute care hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required between the MS/Tele unit and a sister campus within scope of practice
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC State or Compact) currently in hand - pending licenses not accepted
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, central/PICC line care, blood product administration, and cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia management
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management
• Wound care and total joint replacement experience
• Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response
• Manage renal, respiratory, and neurological patient needs including CVA care, hemodialysis management, and airway management
• Perform wound care, surgical drain management, and orthopedic post-surgical care
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the main campus to be eligible as a local candidate
• RTO is limited to a maximum of 4 days with only 1 holiday approved per assignment
• Scrub color requirement: royal blue and white
• Candidates who previously worked at the facility must have a 1-year gap before returning as a traveler
• Night shift assignments allow for up to two contract extensions before a 6-month waiting period applies
