• Weekly Hours: 36 hours, with 48-hour options available
• Contract Duration: 26 weeks
• Start Date: 08/31/2026
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,640 - $1,730
• Setting: Acute care medical-surgical telemetry unit
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: Occasionally
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Charting System: Epic electronic health record (EHR)

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or a compact state
• BLS required
• ACLS and NIHSS preferred/required per unit needs
• Strong telemetry interpretation and IV start skills
• Experience with post-surgical adult and geriatric patient populations
• Must be comfortable working in Epic
• EKG testing must be passed prior to start
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused healthcare environment
• Open to occasional floating within or near the facility

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and support post-operative recovery
• Care for patients with a variety of surgical diagnoses, including colorectal, general surgery, hepatobiliary, orthopedics, urology, and vascular cases
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to support positive outcomes
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Epic
• Respond appropriately to changes in patient status and support rapid intervention when needed
• Promote a respectful, patient-centered environment on the unit
• Follow scheduling, weekend, and floating expectations while maintaining excellent attendance
