Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Med/Surg or Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
- ACLS certification required
- BLS certification required
- NIH certification required
- Handle with Care certification required
- Strong critical thinking and decisive judgment skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced acute-care environment
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and various shift patterns as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to medical/surgical telemetry patients
- Monitor telemetry patients, assess changes, and respond promptly to clinical needs
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and the care team to support positive patient outcomes
- Care for patients recovering from post-op orthopedic procedures, total joints, and related diagnoses
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Support a smooth workflow across the unit while maintaining a patient-centered approach
- Use sound clinical judgment to prioritize care and manage multiple patients effectively
