Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring 2+ years of Med/Surg Tele experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Work on a 48-bed adult Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:6 with 3-4 admissions per day
• Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
• 36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) coverage required
• May be placed on standby if census drops

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• CPI-A certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing required
• BSN or MSN preferred

Additional Information

• Deliver competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plans
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care for complex cases
• Provide patient and family education tailored to developmental level and readiness to learn
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote continuity of care and discharge planning
• Participate in unit performance improvement activities and professional growth initiatives
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
