Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for a Med/Surg Tele unit requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Details

• Work on a 23-bed post-interventional telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Care for medical and post-procedural patients, including post-catheterization and femoral sheath patients
• Provide care to complex GI oncology surgical post-op patients and inpatients receiving chemotherapy and telemetry monitoring
• Third shift schedule, 7p-7a, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• 36 hours per week at 0.9 FTE

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact) required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices

Additional Information

• Receive specialized training for post-catheterization care, femoral sheath management, and Tikosyn administration
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document care in accordance with RN scope of practice and hospital policy
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
• Provide patient and family-centered education and individualized treatment planning
• Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities, including patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
• Collaborate effectively with inter-professional care team members
