Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring a compact RN license or PA license and Epic experience.

Details

• Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a hospital environment
• Patient population includes cardiac, stroke, renal, orthopedic, and post-surgical cases across multiple units
• Units include stable post open-heart surgery patients, peritoneal dialysis and respiratory patients, cardiac/stroke patients, and joint replacement/observation patients
• Typical patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend rotation required, likely every other weekend
• Floating required to all Med/Surg floors, potentially to rehab, and may assist in OB as helping hands
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active RN license, Compact or PA license required
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS, with NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, cardiac drips, and dysrhythmia management
• Skills in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care
• Skills in wound care and isolation precautions/PPE

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across multiple Med/Surg Tele units with varying specialties
• Work closely with CHF Program Coordinator and Stroke Program Coordinator for specialized patient education
• May care for COVID-positive patients
• Facility is tobacco and fragrance free
• Travelers will receive 1 day of orientation before being expected to take assignments
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Must reside within 50 miles for local candidate consideration at a lower bill rate
• First-time travelers are not required to have previous travel experience for consideration
