Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 49-bed Cardiac/Medical Telemetry unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Interpret and sign telemetry strips at least once per shift, working in collaboration with monitor technicians
• Manage patients with common diagnoses including CHF, respiratory conditions, GI disorders, diabetes, post-cardiac catheterization, CVA/TIA, and total joint replacement
• Administer and monitor set-rate drips including Diltiazem/Cardizem; titration of drips is not required
• Operate and monitor respiratory equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and administer breathing treatments
• Participate in self-scheduling within a 4-week schedule cycle, including 2 weekends per 4-week period and rotating holiday coverage

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Ability to read and interpret basic telemetry strips
• Must successfully pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to contract start
• Willingness to float to additional campus locations and PCU if qualified

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Cerner EMR strongly recommended due to limited unit orientation (1 shift)
• Prior experience with CVA, TIA, and total joint replacement patient populations
• Familiarity with cardiac/telemetry patient care settings
