Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2 years of RN experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

  • Work in the Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit of a short-term acute care hospital
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating between units and sister facilities within the health system may be required based on skill set
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • 48-hour work weeks approved
  • Charting completed in Epic

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
  • OR RN license required
  • Current BLS certification
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Experience with IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
  • Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration required)
  • Experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
  • Experience with respiratory care including high flow nasal cannula and tracheostomy management
  • Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions
  • Must have a vehicle for this assignment
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care to medical/surgical and telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response support
  • Perform early mobilization and CHG bathing protocols as part of patient care
  • Manage surgical drains and post-plastics patient care as needed
  • Scrub color is any color for this unit
  • No fee for parking at the facility
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
  • Former permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process, as post-offer time off requests may not be granted
