Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg/Telemetry RN for a night shift position at a Level 3 Trauma Center requiring 2+ years of Med Surg/Tele experience and prior travel experience.

Details

• Med Surg/Telemetry unit within a Level 3 Trauma Center hospital
• Patient population includes cardiac, stroke, and general medical cases
• Patient ratios of 1:5 or 1:6 on nights
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM (12-hour shifts)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required, including potential float to local campuses within the same discipline
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license, Iowa or compact
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military accepted)
• Active NIHSS certification
• 2+ years of Med Surg/Telemetry experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with Cardizem, Nitro, and Heparin titration, and Amiodarone required
• Skills checklist specific to Med Surg/Telemetry required
• Supervisory reference/performance evaluation completed within the last two years required
• Valid driver's license required

Additional Information

• Contribute professional and clinical knowledge as part of an interdisciplinary care team
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN for the float pool) are not eligible to work travel assignments in another market within the past 12 months
• Holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving)
• Limited to one day off request during the periods of 11/26-11/30 and 12/23-1/2, regardless of holidays worked
