Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a MS/Tele position at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring 2 years of neuro med/surg telemetry experience and successful completion of a telemetry proficiency exam.

Details

• MS/Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Neuro med/surg telemetry patient population including CVA, TBI, spinal cord injury, and pre/post neurosurgery cases
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day (0700-1930) or Night (1900-0730) shifts, 3x12-hour schedule
• Sunday through Saturday schedule with weekend rotation required
• Some holiday coverage based on operational need
• Uses Epic EMR
• Floating required as needed

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in neuro med/surg telemetry within the last 3 years
• Epic EMR experience required, within past 12 months preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Must pass a telemetry proficiency exam prior to starting, including adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with IV therapy, central line and PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Medication administration experience including Heparin, Insulin, and PCA

• Provide direct patient care for neuro med/surg telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and rapid response coordination
• Located at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital ranked as the top hospital in Wisconsin
• First-time travelers will be considered if they have 2 years of Level I or similar-sized hospital inpatient neuro experience within the last two years
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
