Position Overview

We are seeking a strong and experienced Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a fast-paced 36-bed unit providing 24/7 nursing care to patients from adolescents age 17+ through geriatric populations.

The ideal candidate should be highly adaptable and comfortable managing different patient populations and changing assignments throughout the shift.

MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS:

• 2+ years of recent Med/Surg RN experience
• BLS required
• Epic experience within the last 12 months
  • Must be clearly listed on the resume
• Must be willing to float
• Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program
• Solid black scrubs required
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to manage approximately 1:5–6 patient ratios

The unit primarily cares for patients with general medical and surgical needs, including:

• General Surgery
• Colorectal Surgery
• General Abdominal Surgery
• Mastectomy
• Thyroidectomy
• Urology
• Women's Health
• Gynecology
• Uro-Gyn
• Gynecologic Oncology
• Plastic Surgery
• ENT
• Trauma
• Cardiothoracic
• Orthopedics
• Spinal/Neuro Overflow

The unit may also care for women experiencing obstetrical-related conditions, including:

• Intrauterine fetal demise (IUFD)
• Preeclampsia
• Hyperemesis
• Substance abuse withdrawal during pregnancy
• Diabetic pregnancies

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive Med/Surg nursing care to diverse patient populations.
• Perform patient assessments, medication administration, treatments, and ongoing monitoring.
• Care for patients with a wide variety of medical, surgical, neurological, orthopedic, and obstetrical conditions.
• Adapt quickly to changing patient assignments and acuity levels.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including Epic documentation.
• Provide safe, efficient, and patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.
• Float to other units as required.

RTO & Scheduling Requirements:

• RTO must be provided at the time of submission
• Maximum 7 days of RTO accepted
• Candidates with more than 7 days of RTO will be automatically rejected
• No RTO during the first two weeks of the assignment
• No block schedules will be accommodated
• Do not list a preference for block scheduling, as candidates requesting block schedules will be automatically rejected

Critical Resume Requirement:

Epic experience within the last 12 months MUST be clearly documented on the resume. Candidates without 2+ years of recent Med/Surg experience or recent Epic experience will not be considered...
