Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Telemetry RN for a float pool position supporting 15 medical-surgical units, requiring an active MA RN license and Level I trauma experience.

Details

• Float pool position supporting 15 medical-surgical units in a 600-bed facility
• Specialty areas include neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gyn, gu, hips and joints, oncology, and transplant liver/kidney/vascular
• Patient ratios average 4:1 on days and 6:1 on nights
• Assignments to a specific unit typically last 2-3 weeks, with some shift assignments given as little as 2 hours in advance
• Rotating 12H day/night schedule, combining 8 and 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend and holidays required
• No on-call requirements
• Unit specific procedures include 12 lead EKGs, lasix drips, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring
• RNs administer nebulizers; ventilators managed by Respiratory Therapy
• Epic EMR experience required
• No set schedule provided, though RTO is honored

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certification through AHA required
• Minimum 3+ years of related RN work experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Level I trauma experience required
• Teaching hospital experience and specialty area expertise preferred
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate web-based applications required

Additional Information

• Weekly orientation held every Monday, barring holidays
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Previous BILH employees (travel, perm, or per diem) must complete a 6-month break before returning to any BILH facility
• Pass/fail Tele/ECG and Medication testing required
• COVID vaccine plus booster and flu vaccine required, with medical exemptions allowed
• Maximum of 3 days RTO permitted; no holiday RTO approved
• Public transportation available near the facility
