Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg Telemetry

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with experience in Med/Surg and Telemetry for night shifts. This position offers opportunities for first-time travelers and locals, with flexible scheduling options for contract lengths ranging between 13 to 26 weeks.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients with various medical conditions.
• Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias; manage telemetry and remote patient monitoring.
• Utilize Rapid Response and Code teams effectively during emergencies.
• Administer medications, including blood products, insulin, and pain management protocols.
• Care for patients with colostomies, ileostomies, and feeding tubes.
• Perform pre/post Hemodialysis management and care for patients with renal failure.
• Conduct phlebotomy and manage central/PICC and peripheral lines.
• Support respiratory care with BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management.
• Maintain patient safety through isolation precautions and proper use of PPE.
• Implement wound care and utilize Wound Vac as necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in Med/Surg and Telemetry.
• First-time travelers welcome; local candidates also accepted.
• Certifications required: BLS and NIHSS.
• Preferred certifications include ACLS and experience with telemetry monitoring on the unit.
• Strong understanding of post-surgical care for cardiac, bariatric, and thoracic surgeries.
• Experience with community hospital settings is a plus.

Additional Information

• Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:6.
• Nights shift: 18:45 - 07:15.
• Weekend commitment every other week required.
• Orientation: 24 hours.
• Travelers may be required to float to other units as needed.
• All contract staff may be assigned to emergency response teams in the event of a disaster or mass casualty.

Scrubs

Uniform: Navy blue or white scrubs required.
