Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications with a 100-mile residency radius.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
• 1:7 patient ratios
• Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 18:30-7:00
• 36/48 rotating night schedule with rotating weekends and holidays
• No call requirements
• Floating required while maintaining 1:7 ratios
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA or Compact) required at time of consideration
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• CPI, OCN, and PALS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, and phlebotomy
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and IV insulin protocols
• Relias EKG testing required within 72 hours of signing
• Drug screening must be completed 12-14 calendar days prior to start
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a Med/Surg Tele environment supporting a variety of patient populations
• Contract nursing staff expected to support nursing student clinical education alongside patient care duties
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online computer-based learning modules
• Orientation modules are non-billable and average 4-5 hours
• Must reside 100 miles or more from the facility's service area; local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
