Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift acute care surgical and bariatric unit position requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and a compact or TN RN license.

• Acute care surgical and bariatric Med/Surg Tele unit
• Patient ratio of 1:7
• Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12 hours, 18:30-07:00)
• 36/36, 36/48, or 48/48 scheduling options available
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• AHA BLS certification required (ACLS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• MS/Tele and Med/Surg experience required
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access, central and PICC line management, and peripheral line care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry remote monitoring
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube management preferred
• CVA and surgical drain management experience preferred
• Must complete Relias EKG testing within 72 hours of signing
• Must complete drug screening 12-14 days prior to start date
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a Med/Surg Tele acute care setting supporting surgical and bariatric patients
• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care duties
• General orientation begins on Sundays and includes online CBL modules
• Orientation modules average 4-5 hours and are completed electronically
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Only one active submission allowed per candidate within the health system
• Hospital may cancel one shift biweekly without penalty in the event of a census decrease
