Join our team as a Med Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse in Omaha, NE! This is an exciting opportunity to work in a leading acute-care hospital known for its commitment to patient care and innovative practices. We are looking for dedicated RNs to fill a contract position in a dynamic healthcare environment.

This position offers a 4x12-hour day shift (07:00 - 19:30) with a contract duration of 13 weeks. As a Med Surg/Telemetry RN, you will be responsible for providing care to adult oncology patients receiving chemotherapy or high-dose chemotherapy, as well as managing complex medication and blood product administration in a mixed acuity unit. You will care for up to five Med Surg patients, with ratios of 1:4 days and 1:5 nights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a Med Surg/Telemetry setting.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including blood products.
• Monitor patient conditions and report any changes to the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Prepare to float to other units as needed to meet staffing requirements.

Requirements:

• 2 years of prior experience in a large, urban hospital.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; Chemo certification preferred.
• Experience with EPIC charting.
• Must be nicotine-free.
• Pending license accepted; however, the license must be in hand at the time of submission for booking.

Weekend shifts: 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period. RTO restrictions allow for up to two weeks of requests, which must be submitted with the application. Travelers are required to work 2 out of 3 major holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s. Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility.

Scrubs are mandatory, with RNs required to wear Steele gray scrubs with the facility logo. Parking permits are available for professionals at a cost of approximately $55/month, or daily parking at $3 for 20 hours.
