Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring telemetry experience and floating to any Med/Surg unit.

Details

• Med/Surg unit in a 298-bed teaching hospital
• Unit size ranges from 20 to 34 beds depending on assignment
• Typical patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Requires 48-hour guaranteed time commitment; 36-hour GT not available
• Every other weekend required, with holiday coverage as needed
• Floating to any Med/Surg unit required
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required in hand at time of profile upload; compact license not accepted
• Current certifications required in hand: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of current Medical/Surgical experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Basic Dysrhythmia course completion strongly required
• Meditech Expanse experience highly preferred
• Must be willing to float to any Med/Surg unit
• Must have own vehicle for this assignment
• Skills checklist for Medical Surgical experience required, current within 1 year
• One supervisory signed reference required, dated within the past two years
• MA RN license document required with profile

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg unit within a teaching hospital setting
• Dress code allows personal scrubs of any color
• 8 hours of non-billable orientation required
• No more than 5 days of RTO will be accepted; all RTO requests must be submitted at time of profile upload
• RTO requests made after upload or during interview will not be approved
• Must be willing to work two holiday blocks if scheduled: Thanksgiving Day/Friday after and the following weekend, Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and the following weekend, and New Year's Eve through New Year's Day and the following weekend
• Block scheduling requests will not be considered
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered
