Job Description
UNC Health Wayne is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RN) for its 48-bed adult MedSurg/Tele unit. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care, coordinate patient care using the nursing process, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.
Unit Details:
- 48-bed adult MedSurg unit
- 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Approximately 3–4 admissions per day
- Candidates should be flexible and strong team players
- Opportunities for professional growth, including charge nurse, preceptor, and clinical ladder
Required Qualifications
- Active North Carolina RN license
- BLS – AHA
- NIHSS
- CPI-A required per department compliance
- Minimum 2 years of MedSurg/Tele experience
- Previous Neuro experience required
- Nursing Diploma, ADN/ASN, BSN, or MSN
- Remote Tele experience highly preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an adult MedSurg/Tele setting
- Assess patients and identify priorities of care
- Develop and update individualized care plans
- Monitor and care for patients with complex medical conditions
- Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required
- Educate patients and families
- Coordinate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
- Assess and anticipate discharge needs
- Maintain nursing standards, policies, and safety protocols
- Participate in quality improvement and unit initiatives
