Care Career is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Lufkin, Texas.
Job Description & Requirements

36 hours per week
Shift: 12 hours, days, nights

Roles & Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions throughout the shift.
Provide direct nursing care for Medical/Surgical Telemetry patients.
Care for patients with:
Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
Diabetes
Pneumonia (PNA)
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)
Other general Medical/Surgical Telemetry diagnoses
Interpret and respond appropriately to cardiac telemetry rhythms.
Collaborate with Telemetry Monitor Technicians for continuous cardiac monitoring.
Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
Manage patients requiring:
CPAP
BiPAP
High-Flow Oxygen Therapy
Coordinate care with physicians, respiratory therapists, patient care technicians, and ancillary staff.
Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, medications, discharge planning, and follow-up care.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the Paragon Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Follow hospital infection prevention and patient safety protocols.
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and patient care conferences.
Float to other Medical/Surgical units based on staffing needs.
Required Qualifications Active RN License (Required at Submission) Current BLS Certification Recent Acute Care Medical/Surgical Nursing Experience Ability to independently interpret cardiac telemetry strips Strong communication and time management skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Flexibility to float to all Medical/Surgical units Ability to work every other weekend Must work the schedule assigned by the manager BSN Not Required
