Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions throughout the shift.
• Provide direct nursing care for Medical/Surgical Telemetry patients.
• Care for patients with:
  • Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
  • Diabetes
  • Pneumonia (PNA)
  • Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)
  • Other general Medical/Surgical Telemetry diagnoses
• Interpret and respond appropriately to cardiac telemetry rhythms.
• Collaborate with Telemetry Monitor Technicians for continuous cardiac monitoring.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
• Manage patients requiring:
  • CPAP
  • BiPAP
  • High-Flow Oxygen Therapy
• Coordinate care with physicians, respiratory therapists, patient care technicians, and ancillary staff.
• Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, medications, discharge planning, and follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the Paragon Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Follow hospital infection prevention and patient safety protocols.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and patient care conferences.
• Float to other Medical/Surgical units based on staffing needs.

Required Qualifications Active RN License (Required at Submission) Current BLS Certification Recent Acute Care Medical/Surgical Nursing Experience Ability to independently interpret cardiac telemetry strips Strong communication and time management skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Flexibility to float to all Medical/Surgical units Ability to work every other weekend Must work the schedule assigned by the manager BSN Not Required
